Might even wake up to watch the rugby after getting this…
Hello…. Blue Moon
So, a couple of weeks ago I find this article online. Its talking about these new “craft beers” coming from America, that people seemed to quite like them, as opposed to the taste sensation that is Fosters / Carling etc…
They sounded exactly like the beers from Belgium but if people are being drawn towards better Beers because of it, who I’m I to judge?
A couple of days later, I came across one of these beers in Sainsburys. A bottle of Bluemoon seemed to call my name, that and the fact it seemed fairly cheap in comparison to the other “American Craft” beers seemed to help.
So what is this stuff actually like? Well to put it simply, if you like Belgium wheat beers, you’ll probably like this. Its very very similar, except the slight creaminess does give it a gentle aftertaste that is more then worth sampling.

Want a Project?
Check out the following from onlinecollegecourses.com
Beer is often a staple in the college student’s diet, but you won’t find it anywhere on your school’s meal plan. That’s why you can find so many students knocking back Natty Light and PBR — it’s dirt cheap, priced perfectly for a college student’s budget of almost zero. But at some point, you may actually start to care about what you’re drinking and realize that low quality beers may allow you to have fun, but they taste pretty gross. And while craft beer is delicious and even good for your health, it may be out of reach for most college students’ budgets.
So what’s a beer-loving college student to do when fizzy water won’t cut it, but good beer is just too much to pay for? It’s time to take up the time honored art of homebrewing! Homebrewing is legal, fun, and perhaps best of all, cheap. If you can boil water and scrub pots, you can homebrew, and it’s fun to do it with your friends. Read on to find out how you can make your very own beer-and become the life of the party.

Why is “The Devon Dumpling” called “The Devon Dumpling”
Why we asked Bays Brewery why The Devon Dumpling was called The Devon Dumpling, and they answered our silly request:
Devon Dumpling is a nickname for someone who lives in Devon – like a Scoucer is for someone from Liverpool! We liked the name and thought it would also help promote the local element too…
Now whats the next silly question we can ask?
Beer Review: Summerskills Brewery – Indiana’s Bones
Warning.
Pour this one quickly and its going to go mad on you. Pour her carefully and she’ll treat you nicely, it looks dark, but is very easy to drink. Its kinda odd, it tastes light yet syrupy. Sadly the taste of syrup is pretty much what you come away from this beer with…
…but it is a nice tasting syrup.

Beer Review: Summerskills Brewery – Guzzale
So. I tried “Devon Dew” from the Sumerskills Brewery… and it was goood.
I was looking forward to having a chance to sample “Guzzale”. Yes it has an unusual name, and yes buying this beer does in a way support the Plymouth branch of the RNA.
As far as the beer itself goes… its kinda Meh.
Look up “Typical Bitter” in the dictionary. You’ll find this. If you want something a little more interesting, get yourself Devon Dew instead.

Beer Review: Summerskills Brewery – Devon Dew
Last Friday, alesbymail.com had the sort of offer that was hard to pass up.
Free postage and packaging.
Doesn’t sound like much, but when it comes to shipping beer bottles… the p&p does cost a little more then a couple.. but anyway – I found myself checking out the beer crates, and came across this little brewery from Plymouth.
Well I’m starting the tour though the Summerskills collection with “Devon Dew”. The first thing that strikes me is that the bottle, talks about leaving the bottle to settle to pour a clear beer. I’m not sure how long thats needed, but I got it cloudy… but it seems that a perfectly good other option!
The cloudy version of Devon Dew tastes like an odd combination of a cloudy wheat lager, and a light ale. In that its the sort of beer suited to a hot sunny afternoon in a beer garden, just make sure you expect a little bit of a ‘yeasty’ bite, with a citrussy twist!
I’m looking forward to the rest of the set!
