Beer…Beer….Beer…..Beer….
Picked this up cheap at Game over the weekend – proves there’s life in the PS2 yet!
So this is something a little nice. Its a little pricey, but its nice. Basically you can get…well…a lot of nice food and drink from here. Such as fresh rolls, samosas, fresh juice oh and a fantastic range of Beer from Bath Ales. So if you fancy stocking up, but want to avoid Bristol – give this place a try!
Personnally I would recommend the Barnstormer, but there are plenty of others there.

Well we found somewhere for food, a small jouney towards the edge of Bristol, and down a random scary looking road brings you to two pubs. Due to recommendations by another website we decided to visit the The Old Lock and Weir Inn as the food was meant to be good.
Its worth noting that the first thing you notice when you find the pub that the local area is a very nice part of Bristol, with the pub right next to the Canal. A fact that the pubs web site doesn’t seem to realise. (Photos may or may not posted at some point)
The beer itself was local Gem from Bath Ales. A good darker beer, which reminded me a fair bit of “Otter” from Devon. A definate taste of the west country Gem is the sort of Beer that Ale fans should enjoy. Food itself was a tasty Ham Baguette with a portion of Chips. In general the amount of food on offer wasn’t great, but it was nice and not too expensive.
So in conclusion, good food, good beer (if you dont have to drive), but the people in the pub were not too friendly. So do go along, just dont talk loudly, have fun, and dont look anyone in the eye.
Maybe we should have gone next door to the Chequers Inn?
Currently pouring over google maps, trying to find a “nice” pub some where in or near Bristol. There must be one some where?right?
The Exeter Food and Drink Festival: 17th – 19th April
Now this is something a little bit special.
A weekend dedicated to sampling the best food and drink that the South west has to offer, with a beer festival in the evening.
We wondered around the festival during the day time last year – not sure why we didn’t stick around in the evening…
but it has everything to do with take outs – which often go with beers.
I found myself in Bovey Fish Bar last friday (which serves possibly the best fish and chips ever), and I found my self looking at the menu board (as you do), and could help wondering.
Whats’ Skate?
